Abstract
P178 INTERVAL VELOCITIES OF A TRIASSIC CLAYSTONE: KEY TO BURIAL HISTORY AND VELOCITY MODELLING 1 W. VAN DALFSEN H.F. MIJNLIEFF AND H.J. SIMMELINK Netherlands Institute of Applied Geoscience TNO PO Box 80015 3508 TA Utrecht The Netherlands Summary Interval velocities of the Lower Triassic Main Claystone Member have been evaluated and mapped for some 460 boreholes in the Dutch on- and offshore. A simple model was adopted for the dependence on depth of compressional wave velocities of sediments. Based on this model interval velocities were interpreted in terms of burial and apparent uplift of the Main Claystone Member. A map
