Abstract

This paper reports the results of a geophysical research in the waste disposal area located at Piracicaba– SP. The main objectives were: to characterize the structure the structure of the waste disposal, to determine the depth of the water table and the direction of the groundwater flow.
The regional geology is characterized by the Corumbatai Formation which consist of sandy and argilous sediments of the Parana Sedimentary Basin
Vertical electrical sounding (VES) and electrical profiling were used in an integrated way by the measure of resistivity and induced polarization data. As a final product were obtained a potentiometric map of the area and a uni-bidimensional geoelectric models of the waste disposal.
