Abstract
Balanced cross sections are ones that incorporate structures that reflect the structural style in a particular area, and that can be restored to their undefonned state. The concept of balancing cross sections has provided a powerful tool for constrammg structural interpretations. Better interpretations, in turn, allow more accurate assessment of the trap risk prospects that depend on structural traps.
