G-42 REMOVING DISTORTIONS CAUSED BY WATER VELOCITY VARIATIONS – METHOD FOR DYNAMIC CORRECTION Abstract 1 Physical changes in ocean properties may occur during marine acquisition that can cause variations in water velocity. The result is a dynamic difference in traveltimes between overlapping infill data acquired at a later date. Such timing discrepancies may prevent accurate merging and imaging of the data.
