Rock Physics Quantification of Diagenetic Cement

The work introduced here is an extension of work done by Avseth et al. (2009). Accurate quantification of rock texture in reservoir sandstones is carried out in shear modulus-porosity cross-plot by application of rock physics models. Estimates of cement volume and sorting are presented as petrophysical logs. Calculations are compared to cement volume from thin-section point count analysis. The results show a nice match between estimated cement volume and point-count total cement volume.
