Abstract

Summary

The paper considers the technique and interpretation of deterministic simultaneous inversion results to predict TP3 reservoir properties. The resulted data will be used for building 3D geomodel of the reservoir. Major productivity potential in the field under study is associated with the Tanopchinskaya suite. Marginal-marine sediments occur in the lower part of the suite. The top is represented by continental deposits. Depositional environment change and sharp lithological vertical and lateral variability attributed to continental sediments cause difficulties for the study of this interval. According to well data, high coal content is typical for TP3 reservoir, which to a great extent affects the detection of gas reservoirs. Deterministic inversion algorithm allowed qualitative evaluation of TP3 reservoir properties, prediction of gas thickness, as well as identification of coal distribution areas. Reliability of the results has been confirmed by a new exploration well which was drilled after the interpretation of deterministic inversion data.
