Abstract
In this paper, using geological and mathematical modeling, the width of cracks formed in the hydraulic fracturing interval, which increases exponentially in the direction to the well axis according to the law of kinetics for the irreversible process, is substantiated. The constant of the crack openness spread in the formation is shown, which reflects the power of the hydraulic fracture in the layer of lowpermeable Upper Cretaceous deposits at the Carpathian region regarding the crack opening and has a linear dimension. Using geological, mechanical and physical parameters of the Upper Cretaceous deposits of the Carpathian region and the physical characteristics of the hydraulic fracturing, it is determined that the projected crack propagation will not extend beyond the design interval, which is important for the ecological safety of the geological environment. The process of hydraulic fracturing productive layers of low-permeable Upper Cretaceous deposits is regulated by such basic parameters as the pressure of hydraulic fracturing of rocks and the horizontal penetration of cracks in the formation confirmed both by simulation and actual work
