Abstract

Summary

There are more than two hundred seismic attributes which are widely used for the interpretation of structures, stratigraphy and lithological parameters. The seismic attributes such as Variance and Chaos are used to highlight the discontinuity in seismic data. These attributes are still limited in resolving the fine-scale structural features owing resolution limitation of seismic data. Delineating fine structural features and understanding of trends of fault system are the key aspect of the modern interpretation and reservoir characterization work. This paper focuses on the application of advanced seismic attribute analysis such as Curvature and Edge evidence for detailed fault interpretation. The study is carried out on the 3D Post stack time migrated seismic data. The obtained results show that the advanced seismic attributes analysis can help us significantly to enhance the fine scale features and can provide a complete picture of the fault system.
