Abstract

F002 Z-99 Reservoir characterization in volcaniclastics Abstract 1 Several methods for reservoir evaluation and hydrocarbon detection in complex environments have been developed in the oil industry. Those techniques focused to get petrophysical properties and water saturations -where resistivity-based analysis are not accurate- were inefficient in reducing the uncertainty to acceptable levels especially in volcaniclastic lithologies. Recent hydrocarbon discoveries in these complex environments in Neuquén (Argentina) encouraged the expansion of exploration frontiers to deep reservoirs and consequently the requirement of reservoir models to better understand the hydrocarbons occurrence. A reservoir characterization was performed with the following approach: 1.Integration of petrophysical evaluation
