Abstract
Gravimetric (and other geophysical data) are hardly used to check intermediate interpreted models in the full exploration and production lifecycle (see figure 1). This is mainly the result of the fact that the different (velocity, geological, reservoir) models are representated in various ways and are not always accessible for gravimetric routines, due to the absence of reformatting tools. A good architecture can separate the model building and updating software from the forward simulation software enabling the concurrent use of multiple inversion schemes for various properties constrained by diffent data sets. This paper gives an overview of the flexible software architecture as appled to ïnversion of complex 3D density models.
