Abstract
Two areas in the Ebro foreland basin have been selected for a detailed analysis of the sequential arrangement with the purpose of stratigraphic modelling within the frame of the IBS project. Both of them are Middle Eocene mostly siliciclastic sedimentary wedges. The Ainsa basin in a small piggy-back basin involved in the Pyrenean thrust system whose infill includes turbidite, deltaic and alluvial plain facies. The St. Llorenc del Munt fandelta complex is part of the foreland margin of the Ebro basin which extends along the Catalan Coastal Ranges at that time affected by a sinistral system of "en echelon" strike-slip faults with associated fold and thrust structures.
