Abstract

F043 Imaging elastic anisotropic reflectivity : evaluation of current approximations Abstract 1 We show that preserved-amplitude migration can be achieved in elastic anisotropic media with the help of an anisotropic propagator and adequate anisotropic imaging formula. Then we carry a sensitivity analysis to evaluate how necessary it may be or not to upgrade the classical isotropic formula according to the type of waves and degree of anisotropy. Finally we investigate the dynamic impact of using kinematically equivalent media on the migrated anisotropic reflectivity. Introduction It is now well known that taking count of possible rocks anisotropy in the seismic imaging
