Abstract

The long-offset transient electromagnetic (LOTEM) method (Strack, 1992) is a technique to determine the distribution of subsurface conductivity. It uses a grounded wire transmitter through which a strong square wave current is injected into the ground. Usually two horizontal electric field components and the time derivative of the vertical magnetic field are recorded.
