Abstract

Several shallow-seismic lines were measured by ELGI (Eötvös Loránd Geophysical Institute) during 1993 and 1994. The locations of the lines were selected on the basis of earlier oil industry type seismic surveys. These earlier surveys indicated faults coming up to the top of the sections (see Fig. 3. as an example), but the missing more than 100 ms of the top of the sections made it impossible to judge when the last displacement along the faults took place. However this problem is crucial in neotectonical investigations. To address this question special surveys were carried out using both dynamite and vibroseis sources.
