CrossweIl imaging techniques have been the subject of many experiments and publications that have discussed their ability to improve imaging resolution, especially direct traveltime tornography. Williamson (1991) stated that traveltime tomography is unable to discriminate features smaller than the first Fresnel zone, i.e, about 20 m for wells 100 m apart. but suggested, after numerical experiments (Williamson & Worthington 1993), that this estimate could be too high.
