Abstract
P104 S/N ENHANCEMENT OF 3-C DATA BY τ-p DOMAIN WAVEFIELD SEPARATION 1 A. AL-ANBOORI M. VAN DER BAAN and M. KENDALL Leeds University School of Earth Sciences LS2 9JT Leeds UK Summary Recovery of both P- and S-wave information is important to the accurate determination of sub-surface elastic and structural properties. It is often assumed in multi-component processing that the Zcomponent contains principally pure-mode P-wave data and the X-component the converted-wave energy. In reality either component contains both types of arrivals. Unremoved converted wave energy on the Z-component reduces the P-wave stack quality. Similarly unremoved P-wave energy on the Xcomponent
