D-50 CLASSIFICATION OF WORLD PETROLEUM RESOURCES BY USE OF THE UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK CLASSIFICATION Introduction There is no universal mineral resources classification system. This hampers information flow and makes world wide compilations and analyses more complicated. The United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC) for Mineral Reserves and Resources was confirmed by United Nations Economic and Social Commission (ECOSOC) in 1997.
