P215 INTERFACE SCATTERING OF SEISMIC WAVE FIELD FROM A 3D RANDOM INTERFACE Abstract 1 Interface scattering of seismic wave field is an important phenomenon which affects quality of seismic image. Irregular interface which causes interface scattering are widespread in nature. Practical examples of such are the interfaces between mobile shale and sand salt body and sand basalt flows etc. This has been known constitute major imagery problem in the past. The weathered zone is a well known scatterer in land seismic data and it is known to be highly spatially irregular. To be able to better understand this phenomenon seismic
