Abstract
Abstract
In the Cannock Chase Coalfield the rocks of the overburden are heavily waterlogged, thus constituting a source of difficulty and even danger to the miner. In order to ensure maximum safety with the maximum use of reserves, the area has been investigated by boreholes and by resistivity surveys.
In this paper a short summary of the resistivity work is given, with especial reference to electrode arrangement and methods of interpretation used. Where applicable, comparison between resistivity evidence and borehole data is shown.
