Abstract

ABSTRACT

A walkaround VSP is a novel acquisition geometry comprising multiple sources azimuthally distributed around a fixed multi‐component receiver at approximately the same offset. Such a configuration allows the robust measurement of fracture‐induced anisotropy by the analysis of certain seismic attributes with respect to azimuth.
