Abstract

Issues of mine safety and productivity at Palabora Copper Mine require the continuous monitoring of the<br>upward development of the underground block-cave. A preliminary study using 3-D seismic raytracing<br>simulations was undertaken to establish the feasibility of applying reflection seismics to monitor the blockcave<br>on an on-going basis.
