The applicability of various seismic offset reflectivity models

The variation of the amplitudes of seismic reflection data as a function of angle of incidence or offset (AVO) is a<br>technique that is widely applied in exploration for hydrocarbons and the characterization of reservoirs. Many<br>approximations of the Zoeppritz equations have been proposed, and another one is added here to add to the general<br>confusion. A simple method of comparing them is used here to compare two approximations with the full solution.
