Abstract
Recently the continuous wavelet transform has been proposed for interpretation of potential field anomalies. Almost, all of the 2-D wavelet transform based methods for interpretation of potential field data use the Poisson wavelet. In this paper we introduced a 2-D wavelet based method that uses a new mother wavelet for interpretation of gravity data. The new wavelet is the first horizontal derivative of gravity anomaly of a buried cube with unit dimensions. Our wavelet was applied on both synthetic and real data and gave good results on both data.
