Abstract

Multilevel B-splines refinement is an optimized scattered data interpolation method, and can be used to reconstruct seismic data on a desired dense and regular grid. The original recorded data may be sparse and irregular, this method can do both 2-D and 3-D interpolation and regularization on seismic data without any prior-knowledge of models. In this paper we test both accuracy and computational efficiency of multilevel B-splines interpolation. All three tests show some energy leakage in the resultant profiles.
