Abstract
In beam migration, it is possible to maintain a one-to-one mapping between a coherent event in unmigrated time and the corresponding event in migrated depth. The mapping is accompanied by many seismic attributes, including dip/azimuth of the reflector, angle of incidence at the reflector, raypath to the reflector, coherency, and wavefront curvature. During reconstruction, one or more of these seismic attributes can be used to filter the data, creating unique seismic volumes that aid in the model building and interpretation. The benefits derived from these volumes can lead to significant improvements in the imaging of challenging areas.
