Considerações Sobre a Discretização Espacial na Modelagem Sísmica via MEF

This works focus on the importance of spatial discretization in complex geophysics investigation modeling with the main objective to improve the quality and performance of Finite Element responses. It is shown how a correct concentration of elements near the seismic font yields to model the wave field propagation with high reduction in the number of degrees of freedom (around 70%) without loss of quality. A comparison with Finite Difference is presented to validate the work.
