Abstract

P221 INTEGRATED GEOMECHANICAL MODELLING FOR DEEP SUBSURFACE DAMAGE Abstract 1 Government E&P and mining industry increasingly demand fundamental insight and accurate predictions on subsurface and surface deformation and damage due to exploitation of subsurface natural resources and subsurface storage of energy residues (e.g. CO2). At this moment deformation is difficult to assess and prove although economical environmental and societal interests are huge in terms of strain on granting concessions failure of exploration targets (potential) damage claims etc. NITG-TNO the geoscience institute of TNO and TNO-BOUW the building and construction institute of TNO have started a close cooperation on this topic.
