Abstract

We demonstrate a new technique for estimating 4D signal from seismic data. The inversion scheme is model driven: it uses a parameterization defined at the wells and extends it to the whole dataset. It uses both travel time and amplitude effects and therefore can invert for velocity and density even with post stack data. The main benefits of this scheme is that the 4D signal amplitude is much less affected by tuning than data driven inversion schemes and that its results can be integrated straightforwardly in the reservoir grid. Synthetic and real data examples are presented.
