Abstract

F-35 A COMPARISON OF RADON TRANSFORMS APPLIED TO LONG-OFFSET DATA Summary 1 We compare a new 4th-order Radon transform with the parabolic and hyperbolic variants for long-offset data. An alternative sparsity constraint is used for the high-resolution transform allowing for an efficient calculation of the models. The 4th-order transform is the most effective in muting events whose amplitudes increase with offset. The parabolic and hyperbolic transforms improved multiple suppression. Results suggest that high-amplitude undercorrected multiples may be adequately handled by the 4th-order transform. The near offsets of the primary event were damaged in all transforms although the 4th-order appears to
