Abstract

P276 LEAK LOCATION USING THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN ELECTROMAGNETIC METHOD Abstract 1 Leakage from the clean water network can be as high as 30%. The rapid detection and subsequent fixing of leaks is paramount if the present level of service is to be maintained. A frequency domain electromagnetic (EM) survey was carried out in the Hanworth Park area Feltham west London. This was done in order to evaluate the potential use of the EM method when applied to the problem of leaks from water pipes. The targets were three previously discovered leaks on a 42" (107cm) diameter cast iron water main.
