P173 A NEW GENERATION 2D AND 3D REFRACTION EXPERIMENT IN THE CARPATHIAN BASIN Introduction 1 In June 2000 a large consortium of scientific institutions from Europe and North America has completed a huge active source seismic experiment focused on Central Europe. The experiment is called CELEBRATION 2000 (Central European Lithospheric Experiment Based on Refraction 2000) and it targeted the structure and evolution of the Trans-European Suture Zone region the Bohemian Massif the Eastern Alps and the Carpathian-Pannonian system.
