Abstract
P194 TWO-DIMENSIONAL INVERSION OF MT DATA WITH TOPOGRAPHY Summary 1 We developed a new two-dimensional (2-D) magnetotelluric (MT) inversion algorithm which incorporates topographic effects in forward modeling and spatially variable Lagrangian multiplier in the smoothness constrained least-squares inversion process. From model study this algorithm recovers subsurface conductivity structure very well when topography variation exists and turns out to be effective in both resolution and stability. Introduction Traditionally the MT method has been widely used in investigating deep structure of the earth. Many authors have performed 2-D modeling so far with various methods such as finite difference method finite element method
