D-04 THREE-DIMENSIONAL INVERSION OF GRAVITY DATA ON THE INHOMOGENEOUS- RUGGED TERRAIN Summary 1 The Bouguer and terrain corrections for gravity data are generally made by using an average value for the density of surface material in the survey area. Several methods have been devised for the determination of average density in the field; one of the methods is to find the one which minimizes the correlation of the the Bouguer anomaly with topography (Nettleton 1939).
