Abstract

Though 2D tau-p transform has been widely used in seismic data processing, the 2D approach can fail in dense and wide-azimuth recording geometries. In this paper, we propose a new 3D high resolution tau-p transform in mixed frequency-time domain. The proposed method expresses the 3D tau-p transform as a problem of solving a matrix equation and then incorporates the iterative shrinkage algorithms into this problem, which can obtain a high resolution in 3D tau-p domain while costing not much time. Spatial aliasing commonly seen in traditional 3D tau-p transform can also be reduced to some extent by using the proposed method. A synthetic example demonstrates the better performance of the proposed method in removing the 3D linear noise, compared with the traditional LS solution.
