Rafaelsen (Statoil ASA) SUMMARY Petroleum resources of the Barents Sea and Kara Sea may represent an important part of future petroleum production. At present the exploration activities in the Barents Sea and Kara Sea have discovered gas only in Cretaceous Jurassic and Triassic reservoirs. In the adjacent Timan-Pechora Basin large oil and gas resources have been proved in most of the
