Abstract
An optimum geometry can balance the acquisition costs and the quality of seismic data, which is the fundamental aspect for the flowing seismic data processing and inversion imaging. There are many methods have been proposed to research the optimum geometry problem. But most of the methods are qualitative analysis. We propose an assessment method for seismic sampling geometry. The assessment is based on the Fourier theory, which reflects the quantitative relationship between the spatial power spectrum and the noise to signal of sampling system. The numerical examples demonstrate that this assessment is correct and effective. This is the basic work for geometry design of random sampling.
