Abstract
An integrated study of seismic, gravity and magnetic data was undertaken, constrained by well data and further supported by available geoscientific publications on the area. The result of the integrated interpretation is summarized in a number of 2D models that showcase the geological situation in the subsurface along representative seismic lines over the area. The interpretation and modelling were performed by both geophysicists and structural geologists, ensuring that not only the individual geophysical techniques were utilized effectively, but also the geophysical results were integrated and interpreted within a structural and petroleum-geological framework. The challenges to the interpretation of each geophysical data type in a thinned continental to transitional and oceanic crustal environment with abundant basalt flows, and the importance of using an integrative approach in obtaining a reasonable model for this complex area, are the prime focus of this discussion.
