Abstract

Summary

The potential to cut acquisition time and cost continues to create interest for simultaneous shooting. Many synthetically blended datasets have been generated to validate the viability of such an approach. This paper presents results from a broadband variable-depth streamer acquisition conducted offshore Indonesia. The acquisition consisted of simultaneous firing of dual sources with a randomised timing pattern specifically designed to enable separation of low frequency cross-talk noise. After source separation, the data were processed through a 3D broadband processing flow. The results validate the effectiveness of the source separation strategy and compatibility with the broadband processing sequence.
