Abstract

This work describes the application and results of an ERT and Seismic survey which was conducted at locations of the western part of the Thessaloniki ancient City Walls (N. Greece) aiming to estimate the extend of the walls’ foundations. The borehole ERT results are in agreement with the existing information but are not in full agreement with the seismic tomography results regarding the exact depth estimate of the foundations. It is possible that a joint tomographic interpretation would be able to resolve this bias and create a single interpretation model for both data sets.
