Abstract

Summary

We show that pressure data recorded on any streamer surface can be receiver-side deghosted by solving an integral equation in the frequency-space domain. This integral equation, which relates two-way pressure fields to one-way pressure fields, has not to the best of our knowledge been derived earlier. A second application of the method could be to combine it with receiver-side deghosting methods that use pressure and particle velocity measurements on non-flat towed streamers for low frequencies where the geophone recordings are too noisy to be used. A numerical example demonstrates the correctness and potential of the method.
