Abstract

Summary

Time-lapse seismic has long been a key input to reservoir management in the Snorre field. 4D is used extensively for monitoring the reservoir and de-risking the remaining opportunities in well planning, for well interventions, and in the reservoir management process. Since 1983, 6 seismic monitor surveys have been acquired with different time lapse frequencies with the 2012 survey as the latest conventional streamer survey. During 2013 and 2014, a full-field PRM system has been installed on the seabed of Snorre, marking a step-change in the 4D history on Snorre. From 2014, new 4D data will be acquired twice a year. This will introduce new possibilities in the way Snorre is able to monitor the reservoir, but also requires new and efficient workflows for handling the large amount of data and utilize the value of the PRM data.
