Abstract

Summary

We present a variant simulated annealing (SA) algorithm. This is a one-step technique which avoids the low acceptance-to-rejection ratios of most SA. Experimental result shows that this method is a useful global searching tool. We use this method to inverse fundamental mode of Rayleigh wave. We build two models, A and B. S-wave velocity of model A is increasing with depth. Model B contains a velocity reverse layer. Inversion results of both cases show good agreements.
