Abstract

Summary

Basin modeling allows geoscientists with using various geological data to reconstruct the evolution of sedimentary basins. Petroleum systems occurred in the East Greenland offshore basins are characterized by potential source rocks. Petroleum system modeling simulates hydrocarbon-generation process to calculate the volume of hydrocarbons and locations of accumulations and its properties. The ongoing research allows study of the offshore East Greenland source rocks petroleum potential and to determinate if past conditionals were suitable for hydrocarbons to fill potential reservoirs and be preserved there.
