Abstract

Summary

Conventional streamer acquisition suffers from the sea surface ghost and resulting notches. As a common broadband acquisition program, over/under streamers and their combination are now in close pursuit. For different frequency range, in this paper, based on the over/under deghosting operator and dephase, sum combination method, we can calculate the optimal towing depth of the couple streamer cables, the equivalent notch effect can be reduced to a theoretical minimum. These analyses provide a theoretical basis for selecting over/under streamer acquisition parameters.
