Abstract

Summary

Fracture basement reservoirs are considered main interested in the oil and gas industry. There are a few examples of producing reservoirs which become the motivation for exploring this type of reservoirs. Bach Ho, which is located in Vietnam is one of the examples. Fractured basement reservoir in Malaysia is located in the South-East of the Malay Basin. This deep reservoir suffers from poor seismic imaging particularly inside fracture basement. Using seismic attributes, we attempt to reveal the structure as they might act as a conduit in hydrocarbon reservoirs. Both volume and surface seismic attributes are used in delineating structural particularly at the Top Basement. This top basement acts as a key of the structural interpretation because of the structural complexity especially inside fracture basement. Detailed seismic interpretation of the Top Basement highlights the unconformity between Tertiary sediment and pre-Tertiary rocks in between the Top Basement. The aid of seismic attributes like variance, maximum curvature and minimum curvature revealed different structural and geological features on the top basement and inside fracture basement.
