Introduction The Boyana church is a remarkable monument of the Middle Age history of the country. It is a subject of special protection from the side of UNESCO and the Bulgarian State. The small Boyana church was built in a quiet place, far away from the of the ancient Sofia city, near to the Vitosha mountain foots. The church was painted in the XIII century. The Christian icons of the church present one of the most important manifestations of the Bulgarian Renaissance.
