Abstract
The Kerpini Fault Block (KFB), in the northern part of the Peloponnese peninsula, is one in a series of fault blocks related to the active rift in the Gulf of Corinth that is somewhat understudied. Within the KFB there is a thick unit of syn-rift deposits that make up Roghi Mountain, these sediments do not fit structurally with the rest of the KFB sediments. The challenge here is that traditional mapping methods has led to inconclusive results in understanding how the current setting of the Roghi Mountain sediments have developed. Therefore, advanced mapping methods such as LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) scanning and photogrammetry is used in combination with field mapping to generate a detailed structural model of the syn-rift deposits of Roghi Mountain. This structural model will then be the basis for a tectonic evolutionary model, linking the development of the Roghi Mountain sediments with the rest of the KFB. The ultimate goal in constructing these models is to contribute in understanding the tectonic and sedimentary evolution of the KFB as well as syn-rift deposition in general. Initial results indicate that Roghi Mountain has a complex tectonic history separating these sediments from the rest of the KFB.
