Abstract

Summary

Co-factorial kriging techniques can be very powerful for filtering seismic data in multivariate contexts. Due to their complexity, especially their parameterization, they are not really used by the industry. Some automatized solutions exist, but they are based on some strong structural hypotheses and are not really suited to estimate properly key reservoir variables or indicators such as 4D or AVO effects.

In this paper we present a new co-factorial kriging model, called lostcor (lost correlation), for filtering multivariate seismic data and to retrieve efficiently a targeted signal information. The solution is well-designed for processing a wide range of real cases. An example illustrates the full benefit of using it in a 4D context.
