Abstract

Summary

Newly developed vibrator electronic control system opens up full potential of Vibroseis as a source. The GDS-II System allows for real-time broadband sweep calculation and generation. Generated sweep signals can be flexibly adjusted both in high and low frequency ranges thus supporting real-time broadband seismic acquisition concept. 3D seismic experimental survey has been acquired with four sweep signals: linear, non-linear adaptive, low dwell and broadband. This paper demonstrates successful application of the new technology developed in Vibroseis acquisition for obtaining high quality broadband seismic images with standard field equipment and seismic data processing sequence.
