Abstract

Summary

Receiver deghosting is often performed using the additional measurements of the wavefield, which involves multi-component or multi-level recording. Here, we propose a technique that is suitable for processing pressure-only data without any additional measurements, recorded with a streamer of arbitrary shape.

Our technique is based on the theory of wavefield extrapolation. The algorithm is implemented in the frequency domain and comes down to solving systems of linear equations. The use of regularization and data-adaptation makes it stable in the presence of noise. Here, the theory of the method is described and the examples of its application to synthetic data with complex streamer shape and field data with flat streamer are shown.
